Carolyn J. Shelton

Carolyn Shelton serves on the advisory board for Humana Military, Inc., a TRICARE health insurance provider. She is also on the board of advisors for the General H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Initiative at North Carolina State University, where she and General Shelton have endowed scholarships. Most recently, Carolyn was given the honor of being the ship's sponsor for the commissioning of the USS New Orleans.

Mrs. Shelton has actively sought to improve all aspects of the quality of military family life. She has served as a volunteer in Army post thrift shops and for the Red Cross, and has been involved in countless Family Support Groups and Officer Wives' Clubs. Mrs. Shelton helped establish the Fort Bragg Community Foundation, which provides a conduit through which monetary donations can be made to soldiers, family members or military units at Fort Bragg.
